We can’t get enough of hemp hearts… we are GASP out of chobani (I may have had two in one day the other day – oops!) Seriously, these hemp hearts are ruling our breakfast now …
Jason asked this morning “What can I have for breakfast so I can have hemp hearts?” He called them “one of those miracle foods”.
I need to get to the chob. store, stat. It’s our favorite way to do hemp hearts.
I made a pretty darn great smoothie for breakfast, though.
One serving was:
5 tablespoons hemp hearts (recommended daily serving)
1 serving vanilla protein
1 cup water
That’s it! It was filling – I didn’t eat second breakfast until um, lunch. Generally I’m ready for Second Breakfast after my morning run. I even did Gina’s awesome daily challenge after my run!
taken from The Fitnessista Facebook page:
“today’s challenge: run in place 1 minute, jumping jacks 45 seconds, wall push ups 30 seconds, tricep dips 30 seconds, reverse plank 30 seconds, side plank 20 seconds, full plank 20 seconds, side plank (opposite side) 20 seconds, 30 crunches. go go go!”
I love a plank. I don’t know how or why. I was in an awesome bootcamp 2 years ago (cut short when my appendix burst in two – not at bootcamp, tho-) and bootcamp made me LOVE planks. Love. I’m not so good with the crunches, though. I think I’ll do this again tomorrow…
So, Second Breakfast was later than usual, because those hemp hearts keep me going. Second Breakfast was one of these:
toasted with some Tofutti Better Than Creme Cheese:
Nom!
Lunch came not too long after. The last of the Caesar salad:
So good! I snacked on these all day:
Whit had an auction last week, to benefit The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. I donated some cookies.
Gluten Free Vegan Chocolate Chunk Almond Butter Cookies.
Here’s the regular cast of characters:
A normal recipe is:
one cup almond butter
one cup sugar
one egg
I made a double batch, and chopped up two of these:
Before:
and after:
All packed up! I hope my bidder enjoys these!
It has been a long day – in a good way! I had a good deal of Fun Work on my to do list today. My brain is exhausted. Jason declared “computer free evening”, so I’m closing my laptop and we’re going to hang out with this little one:
Hope everyone’s Monday was great! Good night!

I will bid my soul for those cookies. Any takers?
Oh my, those cookies look nothing short of amazing. I must bake some! The only problem is, I’d be the only one in the house to eat them. That’s dangerous stuff, right there.
Hmm…do you think a flax egg would work in those? Maybe I can make a smaller batch. -ponders-
a flax egg would totally work, if MY fake eggs work!!
this recipe is so simple to cut in half… or you can split them with Camille up there, so she won’t have to bid her soul !!
worst part…? I didn’t even taste one…
really! packed them all up for winning bidder…
You have amazing self control. Heck, I would have made a *triple* batch just so I could klepto one or two. xD
it’s those hemp seeds, totally full !
First of all, I love it when Billy gets excited about my “healthy” foods. It makes me so happy that he understands the foods I eat aren’t just nutritious – they REALLY taste good. Before we met, he thought hummus looked so gross and now he cannot get enough.
Also, the cookies! I’ve been wanting to make flourless peanut butter cookies but was afraid they wouldn’t take the shape of a cookie and now I see yours look delicious and totally presentable! I think adding chocolate is the way to go.
Love the pic of Basil with front paws folded in! Clyde does that too. Must be a doxie thing
