I am ready for Fall.
I love the cool crisp mornings like today… I bundled up in my hoodie and gloves, long running pants and put Basil in his sweater. We went out for an invigorating trail run to start our day.
I love the cozy feeling of being indoors, looking out my kitchen window, over the lake where it’s foggy.
I want to make soup. I want to pick apples (and cook them!). I want to carve pumpkins. I want to get lost in The Corn Maize. I want to spend an afternoon stacking our firewood for the winter. Then come back in and make Vegan African Peanut Soup. Mmm…
Jason knows I love anything with houndstooth print. The other day he gave me this:
My first pumpkin of the season.
He found it at Vintage Green Limited on etsy. Jenn has some really great things over there… I may have picked out some matching pumpkins to make a set.
It’s a few more weeks until we get real pumpkins, right?
Fall.
I love what it smells like…

Cute pumpkin! I love the smell of fall too. We are back to having warm weather, but there were a couple of days when it was fall-like. I already have one Halloween decoration out. I need to bring out my pumpkins though, since they can be out all fall.
Basil looks adorable in his sweater! And fog across a lake? Sounds like you live in a pretty awesome place!
It’s kinda early, so I think we may have some warmer days still, but I am LOVING this…
It makes me terribly jealous that so many people are already experiencing fall-like weather! It is still full-on summer here in FL. We probably have another month or two of heat before the temps start to cool down.
Basil looks stunning in that sweater! Dottie Pottie abhors sweaters – she’ll only wear them if we travel up north during the winter, and only while she’s outside.
I’m happy that Basil doesn’t mind sweaters and other warmers… since we need them many months of the year here…
He has a “jacket” that I swear, he totally STRUTS in… he loves it.
how cute! he shopped at esty? corageous for a man!
I know… I’m pretty dang lucky… this month is my birthday, and I’ve received THREE etsy items !!
I love all the spicy smells that start showing up in cooking – like cinnamon and pumpkin. I’m hungry now….
I could go on & on, as fall is my favorite season! The smells, the cool weather for sipping coffee on the porch, camping, hiking, leaves changing, the mountains, college football, chili, Uggs (yes, I love my Uggs) and fires in the fireplace!
Now I’m happy
I feel like I’ve been on a mini fall vacation after reading your blog! Fall is the best! The leaves on my tree are just starting to change- yea! Basil is so cute! Thanks so much for featuring a picture of my, now yours
hounds tooth pumpkin! Happy fall!
Gluten-free, vegan apple crisp. It needs to happen!
oh it IS happening!!
today or tomorrow!
LOVE Basil in his sweater. Clyde hasn’t tried many articles of clothing yet, so we’ll see if he’ll tolerate that kind of thing when it gets colder! I love fall too, but fall in the south is not the same as New England. I really miss the foliage, apple picking, and crisy/chilly air they get this time of year. It’s 90 degrees in Charlotte today
he may fight it at first… some of Basil’s sweaters are WOOL and the smell made him want to bite it… but he calms down after a bit… so if Clyde acts like he doesn’t like it, give him a bit… he’ll probably be fine
Halloween is my favorite part of Fall!!
I LOVE Halloween!!
My favorite things about Fall!? The smell, the seasonal produce (especially squash!), the crisp air, the changing trees, the snuggly weather.
Everything!
That pumpkin is so adorable!!! I love the stick on the top. How authentic
I love Fall: the colors of the leaves, the crisp air, the pumpkins, Halloween, everything!
I am hitting up Hobby Lobby this weekend, I need new fall stuff:)
I love the way it smells on Halloween night from everyone’s pumpkins. mmm.
I just want to go to a place called Hobby Lobby !!
My favorite part is the weather! …even though it won’t be fall in Dallas for a few more months! Still 90 degree weather here.
oh I love the smell of fall too! It doesn’t get cold here until October at least. Ya, crazy! Even then, its still 80 degrees on halloween.
