fried egg pizza

in Dinner,Gluten Free,product review

I have always wanted one.

Last week Kinnikinnick sent me a huge box of their gluten free product. I made tonight’s dinner with their personal pizza crust. This crust is great – not overly chewy or grainy like some gluten free dough can be. It is very flavorful and gets crispy. Closest to a regular pizza dough than any we’ve eaten, and with both Jason and I eating 95% gluten free, we have tried several! :)

So. Back to my egg. This was awesome! I loved it. I absolutely love a fried egg with a runny yolk. I’ve put them on toast, over pasta and quinoa, even on a bed of spinach.

Tonight’s pizza had spinach on it:

Jason didn’t care for my fried egg idea, so his pizza was spinach, garlic, basil, cheese and tomato:

There really is spinach in there.

Look at that crispy crust.

Fried Egg Pizza

Preheat oven to 525.
Cover pizza dough with tomato sauce.
Add toppings of choice – mine included:

spinach
basil
garlic
colby jack
tomatoes

Crack egg into separate bowl, drop onto middle of pizza.
Bake 10 minutes. If egg is not done to your liking, place under broiler for one minute
. This should be plenty of time to fully cook the egg if ten minutes of baking didn’t do it.

I have found my new favorite gluten free pizza crust – Thank you, Kinnikinnick!

*Disclaimer –> While I did receive product, I am never paid for my reviews.

Have you ever had egg on a pizza? What is your favorite pizza topping?

I think I’d have to side with Jason on the no egg thing ;-) I know lots of people rave about it though.

I’ve never had egg on a pizza, although I *love* eggs and I’m sure it was delicious.

Your egg looks so beautiful too!

What a fantastic idea! I have put fried egg on asparagus, and I totally think that the pizza would taste amazing.

everything looks so fresh! I think the water you all have in Portland makes everything bake/cook better:)

That looks so good!
I haven’t tried the pizza crust from Kinnikinnick, but try and find their Tapioca Rice English Muffins. I ate my last one yesterday and I literally started crying! I found mine at Fred Meyer… seriously… you must eat them asap!

OOOOh. The first time I had egg on pizza was in Nantes, France. I was freaked out by it, but glad I championed through. It was delicious! Is that crust brand found in Whole Foods?

Wow what an amazing idea. I am a runny egg fiend but I usually just eat them on salad or toast.

I’ve never had egg on pizza, but it makes total sense. I’ve had egg on pasta, why not dough!? Good choice. Jason was missing out! ;)
