s’mores

Dessert last night was s’mores – both Gluten Free and Vegan – made with Green & Black’s Maya Gold bar, Sweet & Sara Cinnamon Pecan Marshmallows, and Kinnikinnick Graham Crackers – they’re called S’moreables, y’all ! What else am I going to use them for??

Sweet and Sara makes The Best Flavors of vegan marshmallows. I love all of their products, as you all know!

The cinnamon pecan is SO good:

The flavors of the Maya Gold – spicy warm cinnamon and orange – are amazing. I love Green & Black’s, and this is one of our new favorite flavors! Green & Black’s is organic and fair trade, and is not made with any animal products.

The Kinnikinnick Grahams are delicious also! They have a great crunch and flavor, and are a perfect size for s’mores.

When was the last time you had a s’more?

Did you attend summer camp as a child? :D

*It has been brought to attention that the Green & Black’s ingredients list “milk powder”. This looks to be not an actual ingredient, but residue from their milk chocolate bars. Statement here. No longer labeled vegan.

Ok, I’ve never tried a vegan marshmallow and haven’t had tasty treats like rice krispy treats in probably 17 years now. You know, I never really liked s’mores as a kid. Crazy huh??

yes, Heather, that IS crazy! ;) I love rice crispies treats… over the summer I made STRAWBERRY crispy treats… YUM

Please, SpaBettie, I want s’more!

har har har

No, but seriously, I haven’t had one in ages. Though, I recently had an agave marshmallow. I have no idea if that’s vegan, but it was amazing. Just saying.

agave marshmallow sounds great… I think what makes these vegan is that they do not have any gelatin… and they are SO good!! :D

You know, I *really* don’t care for marshmallows so s’mores don’t excite me… but here’s a shout out to your Q of this morning: I want a recipe for GF graham crackers!! What can you do with that? :D BIG please and thank you in advance…!

I’m very impressed with these marshmallows – they are all so good… and that I can make a s’more that is both vegan AND gluten free… I was a happy camper!

I clearly need to make them more! These were SO good… and I think I actually prefer the gf grahams for s’mores… they “hold up” better!!

Pecan marshmallows? Cool! This treat looks so delish, dear. I’d have to sub some gluten-free cookies for the graham crackers though. Just love cookie s’mores. ;-)

I would put a s’more in the microwave everyday if my husband wasn’t watching. Something about teetering on the edge of blowing up that marshmallow is something I luhve:)

I am at a spa and thought of you spabettie!! Unfortunately, the vegan/vegetarian options are nil. Fortunately, the chef has been nice about accomodating our diet!!

Reply

46 spabettie November 9, 2010 at 6:38 pm

oooh, Enjoy!! :) where are you??? that’s great that the chef is accommodating… perhaps they’ll realize they need more veg choices? :)

47 theveggie November 10, 2010 at 10:46 am

@ Sanctuary on Camelback mtn in Phoenix. do you know it? The manager came over to my table last night to talk about my meals for today. They had some interesting veg sounding options on the menu but most of it was made with chicken broths and such and they weren’t able to make substitutions. we ended up eating sides for dinner last night!

Reply

48 spabettie November 10, 2010 at 1:15 pm

I “know of” it… haven’t been (yet!). Sounds fabulous to me, and very personalized and attentive… except… vegetarian items made with chicken broth? That’s just not right… I’m surprised they don’t have more, especially as a large highly rated place! Either way, I imagine you are having a fabulous time!! ENJOY !

But they look yummy! I want one now….
