My challenge this week was creating a vegan and gluten free cinnamon roll. While I am the baker, Jason is the rising-dough maker in our house (pizza dough!), so this was fairly new to me.
I think I am almost there.
Do you bake? What is your favorite thing to bake?
Have you had luck with yeast dough?

Wow these look fantastic. I too love to bake but very rarely is it something that contains yeast and rises. I’m impressed
)
Thanks, Anna! It was fun! I rarely use yeast, either, but now I want to MORE!
Wow. These look promising.
The only thing I make with dough & yeast is pizza dough. I’m not the best at baking/making desserts.
this was my first time ever making cinnamon rolls… (well, THESE were third try, I think!)
Those are vegan and gluten-free? I can hardly believe it! Awesome job!
Thanks, Evan! yep… these photos are… round three, I think…
Those are beautiful!
Thanks, Anna! They are yummy…

Thanks, Mindy!
I baked cinn rolls with yeast today, too! For the first time… they came out really well. I LOVE TO BAKE!

I’m not great with yeast, but I am working on it
thank you!! I haven’t had much recent experience with yeast, but this has been a fun cinnamon roll week!

i am a fool for cinnamon rolls and these look delish:)
Thanks, Page! the cinnamon rolls are getting pretty FOOLISH around here with all my recipe testing!
Your pictures are awesome! I actually have never made cinnamon rolls. I need to get on that.
Thanks, Jessica!
ahhh….cinnamon rolls, it’s been too long!! i’m not much of a baker, but i often make cereal muffins with chocolate chips. i think muffins are my favourite food group. :p
I love muffins too! I’ve made a couple batches of these cinnamon rolls in muffin pans – I like them that way!!
I love to bake actually. I have never tried to make cinnamon rolls though. Those look good!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEATHER !!
I heart baking, and my biggest reluctance in using yeasty doughs is that it takes an age… and if there’s a hiccup, you have to go back and do *hours* of work again!!
I made some GF pizza dough this afternoon—made the recipe 3 times before, and for some reason, this time it just wasn’t *behaving* right. Interestingly, usually I speed up the proofing with a low oven setting, and this time I did it in the sun… but the elasticity definitely comes out of a higher proofing temp, I think. So there were tears at threats, but no dice: she just didn’t want to be stretchy. I decided to go forward regardless and just hope for the best, but my baking perfectionism *definitely* woulda come to play if it were just a matter of re-mixing. Waiting through ANOTHER hour of rising, however, is out of the Q.
yes, yeast is a funny thing, I am finding… over the week I’ve made several batches of these… not all have turned out the same… it has been FUN though!!
oooooooooh I soooo want this recipe!!!
Hi Jessica! I will be posting soon…
I’m definitely more of a baker than a cook but I generally stick to un-yeasted goods. No real good reason, though. These look great!
it’s been fun to learn and play with! interesting too, because I bake a lot… yeast is a whole new ballgame!
DANG! You’re making me want to bake (and lick off the drizzle)…
yes, the drizzle is GOOD !
Uh… I’m kind of a ditz, but we have the same theme LMAO – we are soooooo connected
ha, Kris! YES we are!!
I love when I see that… hope you are having a great weekend!!
My favorite thing to bake is anything I can put in a muffin pan… I love the perfect portion control… for eggs, pumpkin muffins, cupcakes, any berry muffin, lentil loaf, and more.
that’s how I made this batch of cinnamon rolls !! I rolled them and baked them in muffin pans!
I LOVE to bake…but usually dont bake until I go home to visit my family…I dont like to have tons of goodies hanging around when its just me haha
I make a MEAN Carrot Cake however! Its my dad’s favorite…so I had to make it the best!! I think I might try to play with the recipe when Im back for the holidays to make it a bit healthier…aka…cut down the oil!!!
mmmmmmmmm
I try to bake when I can give away most of it!! I love carrot cake... I hope you blog about your recipe redo!!
I’m with Dairy Free Betty. Recipe please? The photo is mouthwatering.
thank you!! I’ll be sharing soon…
I could REALLY use a couple of these right now as I lazily sit on the couch after a night of too much salty Mexican food and drinks. Do you deliver? I’ll pay extra.
