I love cinnamon. and I love the benefits:

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon each day can lower LDL cholesterol.

cinnamon may significantly lower arthritis pain.

cinnamon is a good source of calcium, iron and fiber.

cinnamon may regulate blood sugar.

smelling cinnamon can boost brain function.

cinnamon is anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory.

and it tastes wonderful!

warm cinnamon smoothie

1 1/2 cups almond milk
3 large handfuls spinach
1 banana
2 teaspoons cinnamon

Blend and enjoy!

A great addition to a very simple smoothie, cinnamon adds a nice warmth and delicious flavor. My cinnamon jar now has a permanent place on my counter. :D

Are you a cinnamon fan?

Interesting smoothie combo. I used to really dislike (dare I even say hate) cinnamon awhile back…but I turned the corner on it about a year ago. Now I enjoy it very much.

I DO love cinnamon. The taste, smell, the feelings of the holidays it brings :o ) I knew it was healthy but I didn’t know it had so many benefits. I dunno if I’ll be putting it in a green smoothie….but now I have an excuse to use it more. Happy Saturday!

I adore cinnamon. I put it in so many things (plain yogurt + cinnamon = heaven).
Back in the day when I worked at Baskin Robbins I would mix cinnamon in with the vanilla all the time. So good (Cool Moon down in the pearl has amazing cinnamon ice cream)

Cinnamon is probably my most prized spice! I got on high alert when I’m running low and it has a place on my counter top, too. :) BUT, weird thing happened twice this week and I made oats SANS cinnamon, and really enjoyed the simplicity of the oats sweetened with banana and creamy with vanilla almond milk and chia seeds.

yes, I know what you mean… I really like the taste of plain oats… so creamy good. I am also happy to know you covet cinnamon like I do… that and marcona almonds, right?? :D

I love cinnamon:) I just started adding it to smoothies too-I read other bloggers say it brings out flavors and I thought it was a hoax until I tried it myself-it really does!

This post is so ironic because I always forget about cinnamon and just the past few days have been adding it like crazy to my yogurt! Thanks for reminding me of the benefits. I’ll remind my mom when she starts questioning me about where all the cinnamon has gone :)

I never would have thought to put cinnamon with spinach! I love the stuff too, and lately have been putting it on a lot more stuff. Sadly, it doesn’t love me back, so I can’t use it too often. :(

Love cinnamon, hate green smoothies (no offense at all though, I just like chewing my greens). I make thanksgiving turkey encrusted with cinnamon and filled with wild rice and raisins! Its heavenly! I love nutmeg too. Its a close cousin, it might even be good in a smoothie

yes, nutmeg is another great one… if I liked turkey, I would LOVE yours!!

I put cinnamon (or sminnamon as I call it… Alex and I add “sm” to the beginning of a few words like sweetie (smeetie) and soup (which is actually smoop)… uh, yeah!) in tons of things I eat and drink. I am a big fan.

Yum! I love cinnamon. I actually use it as an air freshener all the time. I heat water on the stove with some cinnamon in it and let it boil and waft all through the house. My mom taught me that when we were trying to sell our house when I was little :)

I don’t like cinnamon. Really, I don’t, and yet I eat it every day. The idea of cinnamon and spinach is totally wrong to me, but cinnamon and pumpkin are necessary.

Your smoothies are so pretty! What’s your photo environment? A light box?
