apple banana matcha

I am low on many veggies and fruits right now, but you can bet I always have spinach on hand. I buy two boxes at a time…

The only other produce I have right now are apples and one banana. It worked today!

apple banana matcha smoothie

serves two

4 apples
1 banana
4 handfuls spinach
2 tablespoons matcha
2 tablespoons maca

Juice apples. Add to blender full of spinach, blend. Add banana, matcha, maca, blend.

I love my matcha…

This was most definitely a tasty wake up I needed today! The week is officially half over – huzzah!

no shame, Stephanie!! matcha is finely powdered green tea… it contains at least the same amount of antioxidants of loose leaf green teas, and has a rich lovely flavor. do you visit coffee shops? some offer a “matcha latte” made with the powdered tea, and it is lovely… I’m not a big Starbucks fan, preferring to spend money with our local shops, BUT… Starbucks does make a good one, if you want to try… YUM :D I buy the powder and make my own, and add it to smoothies like today, and bake with it too!

I rarely drink coffee. We do indulge in some pretty awesome herbal tea from a downtown shop. I’ll have to see if it’s something they would carry. :) We’re drinking South African Rooibos right now and I love it. :)

Looks great to me! I’m the same about spinach…and bananas. If I don’t have those 2 things, I panic! Hehe. Kidding. Sort of. I’m learning about maca lately – it’s an ingredient in the Amazing Grass I just received – whoop! Hope your day is going well. xo

I think if I took 2 tablespoons of maca at a time I’d jump out of my skin! :) I haven’t quite built up a tolerance to it yet. This looks just dreamy, and I buy two boxes of spinach at a time too. Lurve me some Costco for that!

yep – it does take a bit to get used to… 2T was for two servings, and actually it was almost 3… :) if I’m making only one serving, only 1T ! :) I LOVE the “produce room” at costco!! apples and carrots and spinach – Oh My ! :)

Ooooh, I love matcha, I will have to try adding it to smoothies, I never think to buy any, but I love it when they add it to my Vivanno smoothie at Starbucks!

my matcha obsession started at Starbucks with their green tea latte… I like them iced, so so good! I like to bake with the powder and adding it to smoothies is always good! :)

Yes. Yes. and Yes. I love matcha, and this smoothie looks heavenly!
Where do you get your matcha from?

I usually get mine from matcha source. there are a few places online that have this kind. it’s SO tasty, right? I have a difficult time describing the flavor, but I love it!

haa HAA ! ;) funny girl. not in MY spas! maca has many benefits – just start with a VERY small amount, the taste may take some getting used to. and matcha – that is my favorite! I’m excited for you to try new things, you’ll have to let me know how you like them?

Ok I just tried it – minus the sexual healing powder – and it was FANTASTIC!!! It would be good with some crushed ice in the blender too – very yummy filling . Like you I fell in love with matcha via the green tea latte – but this was the first to use it in a juice blend.
