a pain free giveaway

by spabettie on February 18, 2011

in Basil is a Young Sportsman

I am an expert.

I have a substantial amount of joint + muscle pain and headaches. I’ve tried most every topical pain relief available to me, and consider myself well versed on the subject.

Amrutanjan, which I order from India:

Amrutanjan is amazing. It works incredibly well. The downside? Smelling like Grandpa. ;)

I learned of this miracle from a coworker of Jason. During a team meeting, his coworker was talking and took The Dragon tube out and started rolling it across his forehead! While he was talking! Jason’s boss said what I probably would have said… “Who Told You To Put The Balm On?

Jason, knowing my penchant for finding every possible pain relief, asked him about it and promptly texted me. I had it ordered from India before the day’s end. :D Truly amazing stuff. It’s a bonus that you can feel kinda bad ass by using something called DRAGON.

I’ve tried all natural:

The Patch:

I’ve gone old school:

Warming…

even topical ibuprofen!

Each product I’ve used all have their good points. I’ve just started strength training again, and in the last week have definitely had the opportunity to put many of these to the test.

The one that remains my favorite is still Biofreeze. I have all of the forms it comes in – gel, roll on, spray, applicator tube and their newest – the high potency, maximum intensity single use wipe.

I have been using Biofreeze for years. When I first heard they were introducing the wipe, I was skeptical. How good could it be? I received one as a sample with my regular order of the gel and spray, and was so surprised!

These wipes are amazing! They really are potent (I still don’t know how!), and they seem to work better for me than some of the other forms. Now it is my go to, my favorite. I still use the gel and sometimes the spray, and I have been known to layer…

Biofreeze wipes have been effective in reducing headache pain (stay away from eyes!), neck and shoulder tension, muscle and joint pain and even my silly ankle or knee when they act up.

Because I’ve been using way more of these than normal lately, and because I want to thank my fabulous readers and blog friends for all the recent support, I am giving away some Biofreeze!

THREE winners will each receive a box of Biofreeze pain relieving wipes – 24 count.

Several ways to enter – leave a comment for each entry:

1) Have you ever used Biofreeze, or any of these products?

2) Did you participate in school sports? Which ones?

3) Do you have regular forms of maintenance – foam rolling, massage, ice baths, Epsom salts?

4) Follow spabettie on twitter and tweet this giveaway.

5) Like spabettie on facebook and facebook this giveaway.

6) Link this giveaway on your blog.

Giveaway closes Tuesday at midnight.

*DISCLAIMER: I AM NEVER PAID FOR MY OPINION AND IT IS MY OWN. THIS GIVEAWAY IS HOSTED BY SPABETTIE – BIOFREEEZE DOES NOT KNOW WHO I AM.

I’ve not tried biofreeze. I was just talking to a coworker yesterday who was raving about it. I got through lots of tiger balm though!

My maintenance is most definitely rolling – I use the Triggerpoint Kit though so it’s not just the foam roller. LOVE it. I am a huge fan of Epsom salt baths too.

In school, I played volleyball, basketball, track, tennis, and did gymnastics…I was not entirely serious about all of them, especially not tennis. I sucked at that! V-ball and gymnastics were my thangs :)

My maintenance is the trigger point therapy kit. It hurts like crazy, but if I can make myself do it, the effects are amazing… I want massages though. I should start that!

I do have forms of maintenance, but I would not call them regular. Foam roller and massage treatments really need to be more regular.

1) Love Biofreeze. I hoard the samples they give away at races! Never tried any of the other items though…but I think I might have one of those Salonpas patches in my medicine cabinet!
2) No sports for me in school – I was a band geek thru and thru!
3) Foam rolling/”the stick” for me here – I’d love to try an ice bath, but we only have a stand up shower in our bathroom!
(that’s enough entries for me)

Oh, I’m chronic. I’ve used prescriptions, I’ve used OTC, I’ve done physio / osteopathy / massage / acupuncture / homeopathic rubs / Epsom salts baths / hot-cold therapy (but not Biofreeze!) / Chinese healing: you name it, I’ve been there. I usually think the pain is a sign of something else going on so instead of masking it, I try to get at what’s beneath it, but too often what lies beneath is “no work-life balance” and then I pop the painkiller. :)

I did lots of school sports, from running track, soccer, handball, and XC skiing in elementary, to club volleyball and field hockey in high school, as far as organised sports go… but I never had pains until adulthood (aside from a weak ankle prone to sprains).

Hooray for getting back to strength training!! That’s my goal for next week, too!!

Reply

38 spabettie February 18, 2011 at 11:18 am

mee too, chronic!

I am the same way, I try to ‘heal’ my pains naturally (thus the anti inflammatory diet!) but… sometimes… this stuff REALLY helps! it frequently GETS RID of my headaches!!

White Flower Oil (http://embrocation.50webs.com) was introduced to me by my mother. During one of my headaches, she gave me this tiny bottle of oil and told me to massage it on my temples and forehead. Amazingly, it worked! Somehow the oil penetrates into the affected area and relieves the pain.

THANK YOU for sharing this!! I love to use natural remedies whenever I can (obviously I don’t always do that with the pain that these things help with!) and I will be looking for this white flower oil! biofreeze will ALWAYS be one of my favorites. and the new wipes are DEFINITELY great – I use them more than the other applications now! I buy mine from a spa supplier, but I looked for you – they have the wipes (and all biofreeze) at amazon, and good pricing –> BIOFREEZE

109 spabettie May 12, 2011 at 3:34 pm

I have also been able to find in some stores, if you’d rather buy in person. do you have a massage school in your area? sometimes the clinics there have it for sale, or maybe contact biofreeze directly to see where it’s sold near you. :)
