We went out for dinner last night – such an amazing dinner.
The whole evening was great fun, and enhanced by the rooftop views of beautiful Portland.
This city has some interesting building tops and architecture. I love vintage buildings.
Birds eye view of The Pioneer Courthouse
and Portland’s Living Room, Pioneer Courthouse Square.
I must be proofing and writing too many recipes lately – I wanted to spell that Quart house each time.
Portlanders – any guesses where we were last night?

Absolutely beautiful!! And I have no clue where you went….dinner somewhere fabulous?
thanks, Lindsay! yep – that sums it up – dinner somewhere fabulous!
I’m posting tomorrow… Happy Wednesday!
Portland City grill???
Do tell! I want to go there! What did you eat?
I haven’t been to PCG in… forever!
we were at a special event that took place at Departure – didn’t see their normal menu but it’s described as Asian Fusion. the views and rooftop patio are good for a visit!
I’ll be posting tomorrow about the event – with all the amazing food!
I haven’t been to PCG in about a year. We went for our anniversary last year. Which was super nice because they gave us a quiet table and sprinkle red heart glitter on the table.
We also go a free dessert!
I haven’t heard of this place. I want to go there now.
this was our first time there – been open a couple years. it’s in the Meier & Frank building, at the top of The Nines. BEAUTIFUL restaurant!
Isn’t there another restaurant there too? I heard it was good. Haven’t been yet.
I was going to guess Portland City Grill too. I hope you spill because Pea D and I are looking for somewhere “nice” to eat on Friday. We’re seeing Seinfeld at the Schnitz!
I saw Seinfeild when he first stared the tour after doing Comedian! I was worried that it wouldn’t hold up to the show, but we loved it! Have fun!
lucky! we were originally going to be out of town on vacation right now, so I didn’t buy tickets. when we had to postpone, I tried to find some that weren’t $200 each. wow. I love Jerry, but I also love retirement accounts. you are going to have SO much fun – I can’t wait to hear all about it!
Birthday dinner post goes up tomorrow – unfortunately this was a one night event. We were at Departure, which I’m not even sure has vegan menu options? It was the End of Summer Vegan Dinner. Bliss.
Oh I love the pictures from above! Love sitting out on balconies just to look out over everything.
me too – this event was inside, but afterwards we went out to the rooftop patio – perfect fall evening!
So pretty…I love views that let you look down on a city.
I do too – it’s rare we get to see this kind of view, we only have a few restaurants in town that high. Portland is such a beautiful city, there really should be more!
Great pics! I’d love to visit Portland someday…
thanks, Lisa! and if you ever come to Portland, be sure to let me know, so BASIL can meet you!!
(well, and me too, of course!)
Portland is so gorgeous! I’ve never been but a friend of mine lived there for a summer during an internship and I’m still kicking myself that I didn’t visit her when I had the chance. Beautiful photos, as always!
I love it here. Portland is pretty easy to photograph!
Quart-house — that could be a really cute name for a restaurant. Or something like that.
No clue where you were — but I love the pictures.
haa – right?? it’s funny, my mind naturally wanted to spell it that way…
Looks fun!!
it was – recap tomorrow
I have no idea!
(Not a Portland girl.
) That’s a beautiful view! I love old houses, and happily we have a lot of them over here.
I wish you WERE a Portland girl.
It’s been too long since I’ve been in Portland. My parents live in Keizer so when I visit, we usually just go to Salem. *sigh*
ooh, it’s less than an hour away!
Portland really is a pretty city.
it most definitely is… I feel lucky and always try to appreciate it.
Chris has been dying to go there but we didn’t get the chance when we were traveling sans dog. Soon though, soon. (I think we might have hooked up a dog “baby”sitter)
great – a dog sitter!
looking forward to early November!
Beautiful! One day I’ll make it to Portland!
xo,
Shirley
you would love it here!
