You know first hand that I am a fan of a spicy margarita!! Tonight at the Astro Lounge I had house infused, three pepper pineapple tequila with cran and fresh lime….YUM! I’m sure it would have tasted better in Mexico, but oh well!

If you read the full story you can see how the postal worker found out that the girl’s mother wrote the letter; it was in a PS, along with photos of the dog. And if you check the San Antonio express archives you can learn that the letter was collected by a postal worker, who dropped it off at a nearby church on his/her route. The letter was given to a church volunteer who answered it; it wasn’t a postal worker. The family received phone calls from many dog breeders around the country who offered to give them a puppy, which they declined, though they did get another dog later. The little girl knows that it was a person who responded and rather than feel lied to, she felt loved because someone took the time to do that for her. The mother was interviewed on a radio show in 2008 and said she believes in the power of anonymous kindnesses. Maybe rather than look at the religious slant to the letter, we could take a moment to focus on that aspect, and spread a little more good in the world.

Made them. I added maple syrup to the chocolate b/c wasn’t sure the liquor would be good for the kids. I didn’t use enough beet juice to get them bright pink so I guess I’ll have to make them again! They are super yummy though!
